Karaganda State Medical University is one of the most renowned public medical institutes located in Karaganda, Kazakhstan. On September 1, 1950, the Karaganda Medical Institute began operating and enrolled its first 127 students. KSMU became the only medical faculty with 11 departments and 23 lecturers, including three doctors and three candidates of science.
